“How to Reduce Brain Fog…”

Brain fog is one of the most painful symptoms in chronic fatigue syndromes…

I remember when I first got sick with chronic fatigue syndrome I felt this unimaginable wave of pressure fill my entire head. It was so strong that it pushed me to the ground. I literally could not move. The brain fog was so overpowering that I passed out.

When I woke up I remember lying on the grass lawn looking up at the trees thinking…

“…What the hell is wrong with my body?”

It felt like someone had hit me in the head with a baseball bat but much worse because this feeling was so deep and internal.

It felt like there was no blood in my head. It felt like a huge clamp was pushing my brains into my head. I felt extremely faint and dizzy.

Brain fog really causes terrible suffering for CFS patients. Brain fog totally wreaks your memory and ability to concentrate.

If you suffer from CFS you will know exactly what I mean.

The pain of brain fog is tremendous especially after exercise or mental exertion.

“Now why do CFS patients get brain fog…?”

Brain fog is caused by 3 things. ..

Number 1. Cause of brain fog…Excess air element

The root cause of brain fog is from the excess air element in your digestion and nervous system.

According to Ayurvedic medicine your body is composed of 5 elements…

1.    Air

2.    Space

3.    Fire

4.    Water

5.    Earth

Due to certain causative factors like poor diet, excessive work etc these 5 elements get imbalanced.

Now in CFS the air element increases in your body.

This can be felt on a gross level from gas in your stomach and intestines. Or on a subtle level where the subtle air element spreads from your digestion into your nervous system.

This excess air element spreads through your spine, brain and nervous system blocking blood circulation to your brain. You literally have a lack of blood flow to your head, which creates lightheadedness, dizziness, poor memory and brain fog.

Now to remove brain fog you must reduce the excess air element in your body. By doing so you remove the root cause of CFS.

CFS patients that are bloated with gas often feel great relief in CFS symptoms and brain fog when that gas gets released. This release of gas on a gross level is removing the excess air element.

So your aim is to reduce the excess air element within your body. If you can do this effectively you can remove the root cause of CFS and brain fog.

This is done using a multi-level approach.

You must use a specific diet, daily routine, home remedies, herbs, yoga, sleep, rest, massage and many other natural treatments. These must be used in a special way in order to reduce the excess air element.

I describe in detail exactly how to reduce the excess air element in my CFS Incurables Program.

Number 2. Cause of brain fog…Low blood pressure

Now indirectly the second cause of brain fog is low blood pressure. Most people with CFS suffer from low blood pressure. Low blood pressure means that the pressure of blood circulating around your body is lower than normal.

This can cause your brain to be starved of oxygen and nutrients. Low blood pressure causes dizziness, blurred vision, fainting and lightheadedness upon standing. Which are all classic CFS symptoms.

But it must be remembered that low blood pressure is a reaction to CFS, it is not the cause. Again the root cause of CFS is an excess air element in your nervous system and digestion.

Number 3. Cause of brain fog…Lack of blood to brain

Now the third cause of brain fog is a lack of blood flow to your brain. Again this is another reaction from the excess air element which blocks circulation of blood to your brain.

“How to reduce CFS brain fog…”

Now there are many methods you can use to help reduce brain fog.

Some of these methods act as a remedy to reduce the pain by increasing endorphins in your body and others act by increasing circulation to your head.

But the most important way to reduce brain fog is to remove the root cause of CFS which is by reducing the excess air element.

8000 year old brain fog remedy…

Yoga is choice remedy for brain fog and CFS. In yoga you are putting energy into your body and reducing the lactic acid build up. Whereas with other exercise you are taking energy out of the body and increasing the lactic acid build up.

But even with Yoga CFS patients must be careful and only do a certain types of poses.

As many as 60 to 70 percent of CFS patients have neurologically mediated postural hypotension which means their blood pressure drops when they are standing. Yoga uses certain stretches called inversions which are a highly effective non-drug treatment for this condition.

Yoga helps reduce postural hypotension by improving and promoting blood to the brain stem. Yoga postures help improve memory loss, brain fog and body pain.

The best pose to use to reduce brain fog in CFS is called downward facing dog.

Downward facing dog Pose

Starting position: On your hands and knees

Concentration: On the stretching movement

Breath: Normal breathing

Repetitions: Once

Practice: Exhaling tuck the toes under, straighten the arms and legs and raise the buttocks high. Bring the heels to the floor, so the whole of the foot contacts the floor (or as much as possible, don’t strain). Upper body and arms form a line and the head hangs relaxed between the arms. Keep your back straight. Body weight is distributed between the hands and the soles of the feet. Gaze is directed towards the navel.

Hold in this position for 30 seconds to 1 minute while breathing freely through your nose.

Exhale as you bend the knees to the floor and return to the start position.

Do this pose once or several times each day. Listen to your body.

Benefits: Helps reduce brain fog. Increases blood circulation to your brain. Helps reduce dizziness and light headedness.

Secret Remedy from the Himalayan Mountains…

One of the best remedies to counter low blood pressure and balance the excess air element is the following drink…

Ingredients:

  • Pinch of Organic Raw Sugar
  • A few drops of fresh Lemon Juice (organic if possible)
  • Pinch of Himalayan Rock salt
  • 1 cup of warm water (best to use Spring water)

*Those with excess weight or Candida can skip the raw sugar

Mix a pinch of raw sugar with a pinch of rock salt into a cup of warm water. Add a few drops of fresh lemon juice, mix well and drink. Drink 1-3 cups daily.

The sweet, sour and salty tastes used in this remedy help reduce the excess air element.

The Himalayan rock salt used in this remedy is a powerful and important medicine used in Ayurvedic medicine.

Himalayan rock salt is from the ranges of the Himalayas and is vastly different from common table or sea salt.

Common salt is toxic and loaded with chemicals, preservatives and is highly processed. It is void of the vital trace minerals. Common salt particles are too big to be taken in by your cells.

And sea salt is no longer healthy either because our oceans are dumping grounds for poisons such as mercury.

Whereas Himalayan rock salt contains 84 trace minerals. These trace minerals are available in colloidal form meaning they are so small your cells can readily absorb them. Himalayan rock salt is derived from pure, unpolluted sources and is 100% natural.

Also the ancient Ayurvedic medical scriptures state that Himalayan rock salt is the only salt that balances the all the 5 elements in the body.

The lemon juice used in this remedy is a power house of nutrition containing calcium potassium, magnesium and vitamin C. Also lemon juice helps to increase your digestive strength which is often lacking in CFS patients.

Raw sugar used in this remedy contains minerals and adds taste and nourishment to your body.  It also helps reduce the excess air element.

The warm water helps increase your blood volume which stops low blood pressure.

Brain fog remedy from china…

When I was very sick with CFS years ago I tried acupuncture to help me. I went to one of the best acupuncturists in my area. I got treatments once a week for several months.

But the problem was it gave me very little benefit. In fact often the effort just to travel there exhausted me.

But I knew intuitively that acupuncture was a very effective treatment but I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t helping my CFS symptoms.

But I found my answer years later…

When I was studying natural medicine we had a guest lecture teach us for a few lessons. She was an amazing acupuncturist who was living in China for the last several years. She showed us amazing case studies of patients healing chronic diseases and a video of people getting surgery done using only acupuncture needles without any anesthetic.

I was fascinated by the success she had with patients. I was determined to know exactly how she got such a high success rate.

Here is what she told me her secret was…

“The reason why acupuncture is mostly ineffective in the west in not because acupuncture doesn’t work but because it’s not being used correctly”. She went on to tell me that “In china acupuncture is done once or twice a day. It is never done once a week like we do in the west”.

That was her secret. It wasn’t the tools that were lacking it was the degree of implementation of those tools.

She said “The problem with giving acupuncture only once a week is that you lose the momentum and healing effect. For acupuncture to be effective on patients it must be done once daily and even twice a day”.

I have also found through trial and error in practice that putting acupuncture needles into certain head and back points on CFS patients to be highly effective in reducing brain fog and body pain. But to be effective it must be done at least once a day.

If you want to get acupuncture done this way please contact me.

Brain Fog Powerhouse remedy of sleep and rest

Sleep and rest are vitally important in healing CFS. I cannot stress that enough. Very often the only remedy for intense brain fog is rest and sleep.

If you think about it there is a very important reason why your body gets brain fog.

You see brain fog and pain is your body’s feedback mechanism. Your body is trying to tell you to please rest so it can self heal the damage done to it.

Now if you ignore your body it will give you more pain until you listen and rest. You see your bodies self healing intelligence doesn’t really care if you’re a busy person and cannot slow down. It only cares about surviving and making your body healthy.

So brain fog is really just your body saying please rest and sleep so I can fix the damage.

I suggest you listen to your body. Rest and sleep as much as possible. Never ever push through pain or brain fog. At the very first signs of aggravation listen to what your body is telling you and rest and sleep.

    Hi, Jeremy,

Thks for all the tips abt CFS. I would like to know if it is possible to buy Himalayan rock salt in Singapore? Are u aware abt it? If not what is the next best alternative. I am of Indian origin. If it is ok with u can u let us know abt the person/ place where u were treated in India as we go back Frequently. My folks live in Mumbai. My daughter who is 14 now is a CFS patient for the past one year. She had a Mycoplasma infection which has led to a moderate degree of CFS. Again thanks for all your help.

    Alpa.

    Hi Jeremy~

This is fantastic information and I know from experience that having daily treatments from a classical osteopath (when in England) was excellent for improving my body’s balance even without recourse to other measures such as diet etc. Unfortunately, since being in Canada, I do not have that privilege of daily treatments from an effective treatment modality.

I am interested in the daily acupuncture protocol you site. Can you please elaborate for us? And how do people with little or no income (as is common for CFS patients) manage to do this financially?

Many thanks. Keep up the good work.
